Ideal base for a 1-night stay. We truly enjoyed facilities and rooms, feels like home. The place is 2.2 miles away from San Rafael downtown.
-
Our favorite hotel in San Rafael, we would recommend it. The management was excellant and the location was GREAT. The room was perfect for family.
-
The service and staff are wonderful and the view is nice.
-
I loved that a wonderful buffett breakfast is included in your stay.
I am not a fan of indoor swimming pools , wish it was outside.
-
The reception in the evening and the breakfast were both great. Staff was great and helpful when we were looking for dinner outside the hotel.
The only thing I really didn't like is early in the morning you heard nothing but the flushing of toilets and the sound of people peeing above us and flushing around us. I have never stayed in a hotel where it was so apparent and loud. It was a solid 2 hours while I was still trying to sleep so it made it more annoying to have to listen to that and try and sleep.

Breakfast was good with a variety of offerings.
This property needs to be updated and cleaned. Worse Embassy Suites I ever stayed in.
-
My room was very nice and the bed was comfy.
The hot pool/ jacuzzi jets were ineffective and did not circulate the water, the sides were scaly and moldy. There were no stores close. The restaurant was marginal.
-
The staff was very attentive and courtious. The bed was clean, plenty of towels, etc. nice suite size. Liked the 5:30-7:30 happy hour. Good air coditioning
Lots of food at the breakfast, but poor quality. Mold on shower walls, outlet between beds only had one functioning. No sceen on the window.

The beds and the pillows were great and comfortable.
I didn't like the location of the hotel.

Wonderful lobby with Koi ponds and trees. The suites with door to bedroom really makes it nice when one needs quiet while the other watches tv. Two tvs was a nice touch. Our third room was generally quiet. Sofa converts to hide-a-bed if needed. Storage space is generous and well appointed. Included breakfast was good quality. Staff was very responsive and helpful in resolving issues in a timely manner.
Maintenance issues galore. I've noticed this at other Hilton Hotels unfortunately. They just don't seem to care about keeping thing fresh. There were sticking doors, scarred walls in halls, worn out electrical plugs. It gives the place a little bit of a worn out look, more than you want in this price range. We had to change rooms twice in two days. The first room had inop AC (shouldn't the cleaners tell Management?). After specifying a quiet room, they put us in a room over the kitchen where there was tremendous amounts of noise all night--trucks, banging and crashing noises-impossible to sleep! When we complained they put us in a much better room in the front of the hotel for the second night. All three rooms had worn out electrical plugs. Bathrooms lack towel racks, adequate ventilation and have insufficient hooks to hang anything. No plastic liners in waste baskets.

A clean basic hotel for a one night stay. Not too far to the airport. Parking good. A good sized space.
Modern but dated. Prefer hotel to be updated with real vintage furniture. A new trend seen it in New York suits a big hotel chain like this. Better coffee and toiletries plus many other Californian hotels do organic as standard now. Would prefer a kettle in the room to make tea and coffee instead of a cheap coffee maker. Prefer fresh milk to coffee mate and would love a small complimentary spring water in the fridge too.

Convenient location when visiting grandchild and we were there for a sons wedding. Breakfast is a plus when you have children, and the indoor swimming pool.
First room was such a wreck we had to go and argue for a different room. When booking thru any site but Hilton, you get the crummiest rooms. Hardware hanging off bathroom door and couch very dirty and then there is always the mold in bathroom and around windows. They also seem to keep running out of food. Have to ask for basics such as toast and coffee. Not enough seating.

Omletts for breakfast were very good
Diner menu needs improvement

Everything was adaquete - no internet access is a big issue in this day and age! Liked the GM taking the time at breakfast to talk to guests - well done!
No accession the Internet -we were eventually able to log on but only had intermittent access in our room. This is unacceptable at A Hilton and at $200 USD per night.

The nightly drinks/snacks reception and the cooked to order breakfasts were such a nice touch! The size of the room was a pleasant surprise. We could barely keep our son out of the pool. Will be recommending this hotel to others.
I suppose it would have been better if we could have stayed longer!
